Dawn of night: Part 4Chapter 4
The halls echoed the foots steps of the fleeing duo. Turning back to get a glance at thier persuers, Daylin saw the already dim hall blacken further as the near shapless forms dug thier claws into the stone they where crawling upon. It was as if they where being chase by the shadow of death itself.
"Where is everyone at? That scream should have warned everyone in this castle... there should be gaurds all over this hall!"Daylis exclaimed.
"All the gaurds are dead..." His compainion says "probably so he can enjoy slaughtering everyone in this kingdom."
"He?" Daylis spat out not thinking. The female didn't speak, but let the answer to his own stupid question about his brother sink in. Daylis quickly changed the topic.
"Well don't you have any magic tricks up you sleave that can slow or stop those things?"
"No!" Came the simple, yet harsh answer.
"What about that stick you used befor?"

Dawn of night 3: Whos Bloodline is it anyway
The king was not at all pleased with the turn of events. He was sure that this would start a war. The castle rumbled with the sounds of the angry words he now yelled at Daylis, who gave no sign of care or worry in the matter. This angered the king even more and that’s when he made his mistake. He banished Daylis from his kingdom, telling him the only way he could return is if he handed over the weapon and gave a formal apology to the family he had now caused conflict with.
Daylis only turned and walked out of the Kings chamber, down the halls to the courtyard, where he meet up with his sister. They then left without a word and where not heard from for years.
After the children left it seemed a conflict was guaranteed. Magnus waited for an issuance of war to be sent... but there was none. This was no surprise though some kingdoms would rather retaliate without warning in hope for a swift victory... but the kings’ scouts saw no sign of any hostile intention from ANY of the ne
Dawn of night 2: Birth Rite
Fifteen years after the birth of the young girl the children have grown to young adults. Daylin, oldest of the three was born minutes before his stepbrother. He is the child of Magnus’ mistress and heir to the throne. His name means “Child of the light” and with good reason. He is a boy with great potential. Intelligent, strong, agile, and kind hearted. He is a handsome young man who takes things as they come.
Then there is Daylis, firstborn of the queen. His name means, “Shadow of the light”. Daylin gives no notice to anyone but his sister. The physical stature of he and Daylin are astoundingly similar, but they are very different. Their height and outward appearance from the neck down are near perfect. When the priest who named them first saw Daylis he said “For just as the light is cast upon the face of a boy, so shall his shadow fall behind assuming shape but not form” Then he died from a heart attack… hence his name.
a dangerous hallucinationThe light coming through the window was bright,
much too bright.
Even though my eyes were closed
I could see it-
The skin of my arms prickled,
sweat dripped from my brow.
It was two in the afternoon but…
the sun was setting
through the window facing east.
I should have seen the hutch,
shelves lined with bone china
decorated with delicate leaves and vines.
I was so thirsty
and reaching for cups that should have been there.
Instead I found a billboard of butterflies,
the colors raging
more than any rainbow
I'd ever seen.
Their wings fluttered and flashed
yet somehow they moved in slow motion.
I wanted to stand,
wanted to reach out and touch them but…
I couldn't move,
and yet I laughed
ignoring my dry mouth
and the tingling in my feet.
There was a tempest
on the rise
and in my blood.
A sugar rush disguised
as a riot of butterflies
and they were swarming me.
There was a small vial
of insulin in my pocket
that I nev
